Engine Oil Coolers

Oil coolers operate primarily to cool down the engine lubricating oil, thus lowering the temperature of critical engine parts, such as the engine bearings. As oil temperatures exceed normal operating temperatures, it loses viscosity and lubrication properties; this causes the oil to degrade and break down very quickly. The engine’s oil is extended in life by oil coolers. It is always recommended that oil coolers are replaced after an engine crash or after rebuilding.
